I apologize for the lack of posting. I’ve been taking a break from blogging for a bit while I rethink my online life. It’s gotten way too complicated to manage, especially if every area is starting to expand. It also seems that the more work I do and accomplish it is filed under my real name as an artist and designer and not under a company name or brand. Logistically it makes sense too.
I’ve also been working on a lot of client based projects and started a new seasonal temp job at Deluxe Corporation.
This past October has been the best for me freelance wise this year.
I began working with a client in California but it didn’t end up working out, which was a missed bullet and quite frankly one of the weirdest freelance experiences I’ve dealt with.
I was approved for fiscal sponsorship through Mission.Earth, a local non-profit organization that empowers creation of positive change and new works. This means I have non-profit status to be eligible to apply for grants and funding from many opportunities. I have been applying for funding left and right for many of my projects.
I became the lead graphic designer for a new venture based in Las Vegas, NV targeted to the restaurant and hospitality industries.
I was shortlisted as one of 15 graphic designers for an on-call position based in Palo Alto, CA. I’ll hear the results next month.
I’m starting a new art project that could potentially result in new portfolio work.
This brings me to the point of this post. I’m merging my blog, shop and graphic design work onto my namesake website: http://www.kristibeisecker.com for a variety of reasons. I’m tired of managing 3 brand names, I’m spending long hours every week juggling these 3 brands. My shop has been lacking because I’ve been focusing on my art, design and blog. But I’m also reworking that as well to make it even more manageable. I’m excited with these changes.
By the end of the year (or earlier), the blog will be merged and this site will be replaced with a DBA jumppage to redirect you to that website.
